Banging your Head won’t give you Results

Well Actually It Does…

It just gives you a bigger headache. That’s what I’m starting to learn these days again. You would think using more and more force to get your point across would make people understand where you’re coming from and learn.

That’s nothing further from the truth.

With my classes, I tried warning, lecturing, pleading, yelling and then finally punishing students to get them to do their work. At the end of the day, it saps the energy out of me and wears me out when I get back home.

You would think that five years of experience of teaching students I would know better. Sadly this isn’t the case. I have to relearn from my mistakes.

I actually had no choice.

This physical ailment I got the past few days is making things hard for me to teach, let alone give students a word or two about doing their homework. It forced me to rethink my method of teaching.

It also affected the way I’m conversing with others. I’m no longer interested in interjecting or arguing about something for sake of arguing. It just seems so pointless to say something that won’t be considered others whatsoever.

I’m saving my energy now for students that have my full attention and are willing to listen to what I have to say.

The sad truth is, I’m finding the students and people listening to me is less than 20%.

How do I reach the other 80%?

Actually, the real question is, do I really want to reach those people that are hard of seeing and listening?

The answer is at this time is, “No.”

When I feel a little better, I’ll have to re-evaluate this question. This aliment’s really bothering me like nothing I’ve experience in my entire life. I hope it comes to nothing.  :)
