Being Original isn’t Hard

Talk about an Oxymoron

For me, these words are paradoxical. You can see this in two ways:

1. It’s impossible to be original since everything’s been done before. So, why bother? Or…

2. You are so original that there will never be a another person like you again now and forever.

How can this be? Which is the right one?

Well actually, both are right to some degree.

There really is nothing New

We as humans have a mistaken notion of what is new and old. The thing is, the atoms in your cup, computer or car has been around for a long, long time. There’s a good chance that the desk I’m typing on, the iPhone on the side of my desk isn’t a few years old. It’s probably much older than that. However, the age of the structure of the item is relatively new. Probably.

People have also this notion that their thoughts and ideas are… theirs. How silly is that? There are an uncountable number of thoughts and ideas flowing through six billion people on this planet. If each person has around 60,000 thoughts, the total number of ideas, good and bad is something so large I can’t calculate. And that’s by the day.

So please, don’t tell me you have an original idea. I’m sure there’s a few thousand people that have something similar in their brains and are already forgetting them as we speak. Does that mean you should implent that idea? If you like the idea, then work on it and make it happen! As far as I know, you may be the first one to do so!

It’s the people who act on their thoughts and create the results they want that achieve success in this world.

You are One of a Kind

At the same time, you are the only person in this world that lived the life you lived and experienced. There are some that could have taken a similar path, but never exactly the way you did it. The atoms that has been around for millions of years makes sure that will definitely be the case.

What if you had a clone made of yourself and the genes were perfect? The minute that person lives, he or she is already on a path different from yours. It’s like a line meeting a circle at one point and then veers off never to meet again. In other words, off the tangent.

People say that each day is the same and never changes. That thought is far from being accurate and foolhardy. The reason is just the same. The atoms that were there when you were there are not there the next day. In fact, they probably weren’t there a second later. They moved on into another area or even outer space!

The fact is, we’re so original because of our body, soul and the particles that flow through us day in and day out. It’s safe to say it’s impossible to be the same. Period.

Remember to not let your thoughts be caught of with things that deceive you. Every minute we live, we’re creating something very original. Accept that fact and smile.
