I Wanted it Done by Yesterday!
Isn’t This something we all say?
“I wanted this done a few days ago.”
“I wanted this done a week ago.”
“I wanted this done a month ago.”
“I wanted this done a year ago.”
“I wanted this done years ago!
“Why didn’t I get this done when I was younger??”

When I think about my life and what made me put off these things I dreamed of doing, there were several things why I didn’t do it back then and still don’t do it now:
1. I’m not ready
I may have felt this required something I didn’t have. Maybe it was a certain course or study. Maybe I didn’t have the enough resources. Maybe the sun was shining the wrong way.
2. I’m scared of failing
If I fail, people will look at me and laugh. This fear is one that has haunted me for years. I realized now that no one really cares and I should of done it. There’s no shame of trying and failing as long as it’s not life threatening.
3. I failed big time!
I actually failed in the worse way and felt I couldn’t get back up. I didn’t want to see myself go through that again. It was just too damn painful.
4. I’m not special.
I have no talent in that area. I have no special ability to do that task and must be crazy to even think about that.
Looking for the Bible for Inspiration
When I think about people who wanted to do things yesterday, I think about Moses.
In the Bible, Moses was a prince of Egypt in his younger years. He would see his people, the Israelites in pain and thought to find a way to help them. One day, he saw an Egyptian beating up on an Israelite and killed the Egyptian. He thought he covered the problem by burying the dead Egyptian in the sand, but found out that everyone knew including Pharaoh.
He would then run away into the desert, got married and took care of sheep for many years.
I have no idea what he was thinking during those years, but if I were him, maybe I would of thought I should of freed my people all those years ago when I was prince of Egypt. I would of felt like a total loser not being able to use the power I had back then.
However, that wasn’t God’s Timing
Later when he’s well advance in his years, God would call him from the burning bush. He would tell him that he heard his people’s cries and it’s time to take them out of Egypt.
What did Moses have at that time? His age? Too old. His abilities? What abilities? Power? He was prince before, but not anymore.
God took a good for nothing former prince totally broken down and sent him back to a country where he faced certain danger and death and told him he would be with him.
And, that was more than enough for him to do the job and then some.
It’s Never too Late
Our call to life or action is different. While timing is very important, don’t ever think that life is some sort of one in a lifetime opportunity. Chances are always around if you look for them.
Persist. Pray for guidance. Anything’s possible if you believe it can be done.
Things to Consider for Today:
-
Seek for that seed of benefit.
-
Train your senses to find opportunity.
-
Ask God to give you the wisdom to know what is a good chance to grab.
-
Believe that you will be given the same chances as successful people in this world.
