Thanks

 

Every Sunday, I take the time to be thankful. I would be thankful to God, my family, my friends, my co-workers, my students, members of my church and my enemies. I would be thankful to my happy moments, sad moments, wonderful moments, and horrible moments of the past week. 

It’s easy to be thankful when things are going well and going according to plan. It’s still relatively easy to be thankful when things are quite ordinary.  We are slightly tested when things didn’t quite go according to plan.  The test becomes bigger when we try to give thanks where we fall into conflict and have to lick our wounds. We are truly tested when tragedy strikes: We become terminally ill, one of our loved ones passes away or was taken away while there was still plenty of life to live. 

Yet this is the most crucial time to be thankful. 

In all things, give thanks to God. We will be truly blessed when we are thankful for the things we would never give our right mind to be thankful with. The rewards are much greater when we pass the ones that will test our very souls. One more thing, if you are going through something that’s really hard to deal with, you’re not alone.
