Why is it so hard to THINK?
Due to the changes I have in work along with the side projects I’m trying to accomplish, I have moments where my concentration drops like a stone. I can feel myself being mentally drained and the schedule I have made for myself is not helping me to be at my best.
I decided tonight, before bed, I’m going to sit down on a chair and think. I mean really think on paper and execute it tomorrow with utter zest and zeal.
The past few days, I’ve been watching video seminars, reading some books and devouring reports which gave me flashes of inspiration. These sessions I went through explained why certain things have happened the way they did. I now more or less know why certain things have changed for the better or why things have stayed the same or completely sucks. It has to do with thinking and then acting with emotions.
Emotions will make mountains out of molehills and vice versa. The decision to be emotional or not is entirely up to you. That means emotions are tools for you to use to accomplish the tasks and dreams at hand. They can also make your life into a train wreck and tear your soul apart until you want to give up.
Let me explain. Many people in my life have told me about how ”Jack” or ”Jill” made him or her so mad that he or she chewed that person out for being such a jerkhead.
Here’s my take on this: Why did they give so much power to that person? Is “Jack” or “Jill” that close to their lives for them to even use up that much energy? And, even if that person is important, isn’t there a better way to use your emotions to help that person out?
The power of choice is incredible. It’s something we all have and something we easily relinquish. One of the big reasons for this is our reluctance to think. There are of course other factors, but I’m not going to go into that today. It is in our best interests to really use our minds to make the best choices we can and respond accordingly and accurately.
With this in mind, I am thinking and making the best of each situation. I hope you’ll do the same too.
Thanks for reading my rant and Happy April’s Fools Day!
Random tidbit for the day:
- I was told if you ever drink soda, hold off from brushing your teeth for at least an hour. If you brush too soon, you’ll take some the enamel of teeth off and make it smaller and weaker… is this true?
