Get It Down

I Lost Them

I couldn’t believe it.

I had a bunch of ideas for my posts in Cyper. Some of them seemed quite good, but I thought my memory could hold them until I can get it down.

Silly me. They slipped out of my mind like me slipping on ice on a wintry day. While I’m not kicking myself, I do wonder what they could’ve been if I brought them into reality.

They could’ve been million-dollar ideas! Oh man, then my regret is great.

Have Ideas Recorded

I remember Steven Pressfield from The War of Art mentioning about having a recording device while moving about. Over the weekend, I did record one idea about the illusion of freedom. That one will be a post in time.

I’m not used to getting the recorder out from my iPhone. But I think ideas are precious, like gold. I got to get into the practice of recording my voice down if the pen and paper is hard to take out.

Plan a Time for Ideas

I do this in my Day One app. I mean to do it every day around the early afternoon, but I sometimes miss out on it due to a lack of time and preparation.

I think of at least 10 ideas or thoughts that appeal to me or come out of the blue. I sometimes get a few gems that encourage me. They take about 15 minutes to do.

Write Your Ideas Down

And this is the classic: the good ol’ pen and paper. It feels good to write down in my orange Hanhwa journal with my black Uni-Ball Signo DX 0.5 gel pen.

I also get it down in my dark purple-bluish sketchbook with a bubble wrapping cover and angelic white, blue, violet colour Uni-Ball Signo gel pen.

The writing comes out as inspiring and pleasing. At least to my eye most effective weight loss supplement.

And sketchnotes. What better way to have ideas made as quick, quirky sketches? I don’t do enough of them I know. A block of time must be made, I know I know.

Conclusion

Ideas inspire and create. And creation is such an important thing to everything in the universe.

But ideas are fragile when nested in a electric impulse of the mind. In a split second, they come and go and the opportunity missed.

Get it down. We may never know the full potential of the things that come from the universe until we bring it into our plane of reality.
