The Ball is Rolling
The reason is internal. Your brain will make any excuse from doing any meaningful work.
Once you passed that start and keep at it day after day after day, you can feel the flow of your project. You can see how you can get better.
The work becomes fun. Accomplishments release good chemicals in your brain and it wants more. The work has become a type of addiction and excitement.
The Momentum Is Strong
When you’re on the ball, you’re on the ball. You get more ideas coming in from the universe. You’re eager to excuse any idea. If you mess up, you laugh or smirk. And you’re back at it.
You feel like you’re unbeatable. God is on your side. You are a juggernaut. You’re rampaging on the race track. The finish line is no problem.
No problem huh?
Taking Momentum for Granted
The groovy train keeps coming. You think you can ease off the accelerator.
But you pop the clutch.
The gears grind. The engine shuts off. You’re losing power.
But why? You are a juggernaut right? You were unbeatable.
Were.
Too damn cocky for your own good. You took for granted the rhythm God gave you. You think you can go on your own steam.
Wrong.
Never Step off the Accelerator
To keep momentum going, you step on it. If possible, go faster.
Remember when the Rabbit was far ahead of the Tortoise? He thought he had the race in the bag. So he takes the nap. The Tortoise maintains his pace all the way to the end of the race, winning it.
He was throttling his legs from start to finish. Whether he won or lost, the Tortoise gave it his all.
In a dangerous fight, you go for the jugular. You strike the weak parts until your opponent is down. Why give anyone a chance to take away your life? You don’t give any quarter.
In work, you are careful to do your work from start to finish. Do it like if your life depended on its completion.
Why So Serious?
If this is your dream, how can you be not so serious?
You make the time. You clear the junk. You tell people to go away. You start at that time. You go, go, and go. You finish. You start again tomorrow. Victory is done by keeping the momentum. Until you finish the work.
Keep Momentum Going
Yes, beat that dead horse because it’s a zombie.
Think Dawn of the Dead.
Think World War Z.
Keep Momentum Going. No matter what.
