Get Back to Writing
I’ve been meaning to do this for months.
Then I came across this post from Medium. And that did it.
But I’ve haven’t written it yet. What is my true sentence?
At times, I’ve seen this one true sentence during the day. I’ve heard it while going on the bus to the English Institute. I’ve felt it.
I got so eager to write the one true sentence. But instead, I wrote a little story about how I’ve decided to write again.
The trick is to write. I’m not sure where this will go.
Inktober
I appreciate the October inking event Inktober. Thanks to this event, it gave me an excuse to draw and ink. So far it’s been 18 days. I don’t want to jinx myself. Whenever I talk about any sort of achievement, I get this feeling that I’ve arrived and then I stop.
No. No. Not today. Not tomorrow.
Entering the Different Arenas of Life
I’m always on dangerous ground when comes to any sort of important thing.
The true sentences I want to say is a quote from Theodore Roosevelt:
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.
I’m afraid of entering the different arenas of life, making an ass of myself. But if I want to get better, I have to go in, get it done, day after day.
It’s not about winning or losing; it’s about playing the game, learning from it if you lose, and taking the nuggets that helped you to win.
That’s what I need to remind myself when I do the things I enjoy. Get in. Get a little better. Come back again the next day.
