I got this from the podcast 99% Invisible. I recommend you check it out. It’s quite unique, finding things that are visible on Earth but not seen often.
Working by Design
It’s hard to think of all things by design.
I mean some things are easy, like some aspects of work, like making worksheets, booklets, test papers.
But when it comes parts of life, it’s hard to think that we can make an iteration after iteration until it reaches a high level, a quality of success.
Going the Opposite Direction
I’ve been away for some time.
I thought that if I do less, I can get more things done.
I eliminated the daily listening of subliminal tapes, games that work the brain, the daily writings.
When I did those things, I did far, FAR less creative stuff.
And I think it’s messed up.
And I think at the same time it’s not messed up.
Major Scuff on the New Car
In the morning, I scratched my new car. Badly.
I was quick to blame the circumstances. I was in a middle of a call to Da Missus. That distracted me from driving carefully while parking.
But it’s my fault. All of it. Fingers that need pointing should be pointed at myself.
Now I have to find a way to fix it. Mediate it. Solve it.
The brand new car has scuffs that reach the metal of the side and the door.
Lovely.
My fault.
I said that already?
Yet, this can be made into an opportunity.
A costly opportunity, but an opportunity nonetheless.
I’m going to document this. Figure out the best way to make the best of the situation.
I’ll certainly learn something. Will I make things better? I could make it worse… hopefully that won’t be the case.
Working by Design II
So I’m working my way back into writing.
Part of the method is to do the things I used to do.
That could mean playing the games I used to play. That could mean listening to the Bible on my way to work or back. That could mean reading an ebook whenever I got the chance.
Could it mean going even back to Facebook daily?
Hmm…
Hopefully by doing more of the activities I used to do, will bring me back to work on my side hustle, which I have no idea what that would be.
But play a bit more.
With my family. Call some friends. Write posts. Draw pictures.
Experiment. Become curious.
It’s been a long time since I’ve written a post.
I hope I don’t disappear again after this one.
Thanks for reading.
