All Things Are Temporary

I’m reminded that are all things are not forever.

They can go long. Quite long. But all things do come to an end.

It’s good and bad. I guess that’s why I’ve heard NBA coaches like Dwane Casey say, “Never get too high and never too low.”

Keep it level.

I’ve been tested for the past few days. The things that happened were awful in my eyes and I wish that I never had to face them.

But it’s the weight I have to bear. And the best thing I can do is to have the courage to go at it and hope the end will come.

Grin and bear it.

Hope Melts And It’s a Mind Game

All of this is in my mind.

I wish I had something inside to combat the phantom foes. But a lot of times, I was initially not prepared to handle the ambush, the sucker punch, the onslaught. I believe my own carnage is raining down on my head.

Here my self-talk has to be turned on its head.

“You gots to bring an army if you want to take me down man!”

“You have to fight it, man! You have to get back and tell those demons, ‘No, I ain’t going down without a frickin fight!'”

“I’m having the time of my life with these people stomping down on my head! I’m on a vacation!”

Look up to the sky. Look within. Make the prayers for courage and mercy. Remember that this too will end.

Notes And Arrghs

  • You’re a failure if you give up.
  • If something doesn’t work, try something else.
  • If that thing don’t work, try something else.
  • Or do it again and see if it can be done better.
  • Whatever it is, learn the lessons that have to be learned and move forward based on that.
  • Highly paid basketball players hit their shots in the high-30s. You can get those averages if you put in the work!
  • It hurts I know. Tell your mind to not accept and succumb. Fight it, damn it, fight it!
